focusing on the youth that show discerning business acumen
We are a Section 18A tax exempt Non-Profit Company.
We recruit and train young rural entrepreneurs wishing to operate in informal rural retail. We priorities young women that demonstrate great aptitude to learn, operate and responsibility own or work in a formalized spazashop within their community.
Successful recruits are assisted to obtain trading permits from their local municipality or tribal authority. Once compliant, we assist recruits apply for funding from various governmental or private funding institutions to build their own spazashops
We assist funded recruits build fully functional spazashops with a post establishment support plan. Recruits that do not aspire to be spazashop owners are offered placements at our partners spazashops.
We have spent two years piloting the spazashop concept with the end goal of developing a sustainable and scalable spazashop solution. Previously unsupported and underrepresented rural entrepreneurs can be upskilled into spazashop owners or find employment opportunities from our partners.
Zisebenze aims to revitalize the spazashop concept and position it as a vehicle for localized job creation and business ownership for young people. We recruit and train youth that show discerning business acumen and have a proven track record of persistence.
Many rural youth cannot successfully participate in the informal economy due to a lack of training, supply chains and support. Zisebenze has developed and piloted a model that bridges this gap through spazashop franchise model or employment placement while reviving the rural retail economy.
We are passionate about youth development.
